What is a Holistic Nutritionist?
A Holistic Nutritionist looks at the body as a whole and each person as a biochemical unique individual. We believe you are what you digest. This means you must digest, absorb and assimilate the nutrients from what you eat and eliminate waste properly in order to have "superior" health.
We are trained to assess personal strengths and weaknesses in the various body systems due to nutrient excesses and deficiencies. We then aim to bring these body systems back into balance through proper nutrition, supplements and herbs. We do not diagnose disease; however we are trained and allowed to treat disease once you have been diagnosed by a medical professional.
We believe that the combination of your body, mind and spirit along with the foods you eat, water you drink, activity level and the way you live your life determine your overall health and well-being.
Our goal is to enable the body to heal itself naturally and then to maintain superior health by supplying it with proper nutrients and by nourishing the whole body, mind and spirit on a daily basis.
A nutritional consulting session may include:
- Food sensitivity testing

- Evaluation of an individual's food intake, lifestyle habits and exercise participation for a 7-10 day period
- Designing a program specifically for each individual, taking into consideration such factors as age, gender, level of exercise/physical activity, dietary goals, food preferences and nutritional deficiencies or imbalances
- Custom detoxification and cleansing protocols
- Education
- Grocery shopping tips
What is an R.N.C.P. (Registered Nutritional Consulting Practitioner) / R.O.H.P. (Registered Orthomolecular Health Practitioner)?
An R.N.C.P./R.O.H.P. is a nutritional professional that is registered with the International Organization of Nutritional Consultants (IONC). This non-profit organization was founded in 1983 to create public awareness and regulate the standards of education for nutritional consultants.
The title of Nutritionist is not regulated by law; therefore anyone may call themself a nutritional counselor.
The IONC ensures the public that nutritional practitioners with the designation R.N.C.P./R.O.H.P. have studied nutrition in depth at a credible educational institution. They also must maintain high ethical and educational standards.
Many insurance companies are now covering R.N.C.P./R.O.H.P. services. Please check with your insurance carrier to find out if you have coverage.
